Das Kunstwerk “Untitled Family” greift das Prinzip der Matroschka-Puppen auf, interpretiert es jedoch als eine poetische Form des Miteinanders. Während die traditionelle Matroschka ein hierarchisches und festgelegtes System repräsentiert, in dem jede Schicht genau ihren Platz hat, steht “Untitled Family” für eine fluide, nicht-lineare Familienstruktur. Diese Struktur widersetzt sich festen Hierarchien und symbolisiert eine Gemeinschaft, in der keine Generation oder Person automatisch Kontrolle über andere hat. Das Werk enthält eine Legende, die sich auf die klassische russische Lesart der Matroschka bezieht, mit Figuren wie Mutter (Taurus), ältesten und jüngsten Töchtern sowie einem Enkelsohn. Die Farben des Kunstwerks orientieren sich ebenfalls an den traditionellen russischen Puppen. Persönlich inspiriert wurde das Werk durch die eigene Familiengeschichte der Künstlerin, die als jüngste von vier Schwestern aufwuchs, sowie durch die Gemeinschaftsstruktur des Gängeviertels, das sich selbst als Familie bezeichnet.
“Untitled Family” ist somit auch eine kritische Reflexion über Machtstrukturen und ein Plädoyer für Gleichberechtigung und Zusammenhalt in sozialen Gefügen.

The artwork Untitled Family takes up the principle of the Matryoshka dolls but reinterprets it as a poetic form of togetherness. While the traditional Matryoshka represents a hierarchical and predetermined system in which each layer has its fixed place, Untitled Family stands for a fluid, non-linear family structure. This structure resists rigid hierarchies and symbolizes a community in which no generation or individual automatically holds control over others. The work contains a legend that refers to the classic Russian interpretation of the Matryoshka, with figures such as the mother (Taurus), the eldest and youngest daughters, and a grandson. The colors of the work are also inspired by traditional Russian dolls. On a personal level, the piece draws inspiration from the artist’s own family history—as the youngest of four sisters—as well as from the community structure of the Hamburg Gängeviertel, which describes itself as a family. Thus, Untitled Family is also a critical reflection on power structures and a plea for equality and solidarity within social constellations

Das Kunstwerk “Untitled Family – Die Cousine” ist eine einzelne Figur, die auf dem Prinzip der Matroschka basiert, jedoch mit verschwommenen Grenzen, wodurch sie als Einheit erscheint. Die Figur symbolisiert eine Verwandte – die Cousine – und steht für eine Verbindung, die zwar Teil der Familie ist, aber gleichzeitig Distanz und Abgrenzung verkörpert. Inspiriert wurde das Werk von einem Foto eines Babyspielzeugs in Form eines U-Boots. Diese Vorlage verweist auf das Motiv der “anderen Familie” und auf das Thema Abgrenzung – sowohl innerhalb familiärer Strukturen als auch gegenüber dem Fremden. Das Kunstwerk spielt somit mit den Themen Nähe, Identität und Differenz in komplexen Beziehungsgeflechten.
