Ancestors
The images of the series of works “Ancestors” reflect history and historicity from also private and public perspectives.
The starting point is the recording of the dates of birth and death of the philosopher Hegel (1770 - 1831).
This is followed by an intuitive and picturesque sequence of further figures and figures in which historical data, birdlike
figures and life sections, including the own birth and death data of the painter, are combined.
The bird is chosen in this context as a ghost, a being between the worlds of life and death.
The figures cover a period from 1485 to 10684. They combine personal and historical data in a fictional balance.
